About BibleCast
BibleCast is a native macOS app for projecting Bible verses during church services. It is built in collaboration with BibleShow — the long-running Windows app that has quietly served churches around the world for two decades — and shares the same translation library, the same keyboard-driven workflow, and the same non-commercial commitment.
This page is the short version of what BibleCast is, who makes it, and why.
Why this exists
Many churches today keep a dedicated Windows machine running just to use BibleShow — not because they prefer Windows, but because no native macOS alternative existed. That gap is what motivated us to build BibleCast.
Same operator wisdom, same translation library, native on Mac. BibleCast mirrors BibleShow's shortcuts so an experienced operator feels at home in minutes, and adds the things you'd expect from a modern Mac app: multi-display roles, NDI broadcast, theme and layout editors, profiles you can carry between machines.
Who makes it
BibleCast is developed and operated by HFL Web App Development SRL, a Romanian limited-liability company based in Timiș county. The SRL is the legal entity behind the app — the data controller for privacy purposes, the signer of any agreements with partners and translation rightsholders, and the recipient of any donations.
Development happens in close collaboration with the BibleShow team, in continuity with two decades of operator-shaped software. If you have a feature request, a bug report, or a translation you'd like to see in the catalog, we read every message sent through our contact form.
Our commitments
Free, and non-commercial. BibleCast does not sell licenses, gate features behind subscriptions, or charge for any translation. Public-domain translations are freely redistributable; copyrighted translations are made available with clear attribution to their rightsholders for personal, congregational, and educational use — in continuity with BibleShow's long-running practice. We honor takedown requests promptly. Every module file is encrypted with AES-256-GCM and decrypted only in memory — Bible text cannot be extracted from a downloaded file.
Local-first. Your profiles, themes, history, and translations live on your Mac. There is no BibleCast account, no cloud sync, and no telemetry on which verses you show. The only thing that leaves your machine — and only if you choose — is automated crash reports. The privacy page describes the full data flow.
Built for the operator. Every shortcut, every layout decision, every default reflects how a real church team works on a Sunday morning. We try not to invent workflows; we listen to BibleShow operators who have been doing this for twenty years.
